Brain & cognitive · Cognitive enhancement and neuroprotection
Pinealon
1–1.5 mg daily, 10–20 day course
A 1990s Russian-developed tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) designed to cross the blood-brain barrier and support cognition and neuroprotection. Animal studies suggest memory and learning benefits, but research remains mostly confined to Russia and Eastern Europe with limited human trials.
Reconstitution
| Vial | 2 mL water | 3 mL water |
|---|---|---|
| 15 mg | 7.5 mg/mL | 5 mg/mL |
- Use bacteriostatic water as the diluent.
- Add the water slowly, letting it run down the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the powder.
- Swirl gently to mix, then leave it to dissolve. Do not shake.
- Give it a few minutes. The finished solution should be clear and colourless.
Protocol
Route: Subcutaneous
Standard protocol (subcutaneous)
- 1 mg to 1.5 mg per day, once daily, run as a short course
- At a 2 mL fill on a 15 mg vial (7.5 mg/mL), 1.5 mg is a 0.2 mL draw (20 units)
Course-based
- A short bioregulator peptide, typically run in 10 to 20 day courses rather than continuously, repeated a couple of times a year
Dosing detail
- Common dose is 1 mg to 1.5 mg per day during a course.
- A peptide bioregulator studied for the brain and cognition.
- Run in short 10 to 20 day courses, not continuous daily use.
- Generally well tolerated.
Duration
- Short courses of 10 to 20 days, repeatable.
Notes
- A short peptide bioregulator studied for the brain.
- Generally well tolerated.
- Inject subcutaneously and rotate sites.
Storage and handling
- Keep the powdered (lyophilized) vial in a cool, dark place. Refrigerate it for longer-term storage before mixing.
- Once reconstituted and refrigerated at 2–8 °C away from light, use the vial within 90 days.
- Do not freeze a reconstituted vial, and keep it away from heat and sunlight.
- If the solution turns cloudy, develops floating particles, or shows any other sign of degradation, stop using that vial.
