Mechanism
Shares 97% sequence identity with human GLP-1; a palmitic acid side chain binds albumin, extending its half-life to about 13 hours. Receptor activation raises cAMP/PKA signaling for glucose-dependent insulin release, slows gastric emptying, and acts on hypothalamic neurons to increase satiety and reduce appetite.
