Epitalon (Epithalon)
Epithalon, Epithalone, Epithalamin, AEDG peptide
Synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by Vladimir Khavinson’s institute in the 1980s to mimic pineal peptide epithalamin. Studied in Russia for effects on melatonin release, circadian rhythm, and cellular aging via telomerase activity; not approved in Western markets, with no rigorous Western clinical trials.
Research score 65/100. Reference only, not a dose.

Mechanism
Boosts telomerase activity and modulates chromatin and gene expression in the pineal gland, stimulating serotonin N-acetyltransferase to raise melatonin; also activates MAPK/ERK for neuroprotection and raises antioxidant enzyme activity.
Safety file
Long-term human safety not established; theoretical cancer-promotion risk from telomerase activation, though anecdotally well tolerated with mild effects like vivid dreams.
