Mechanism
Competes with myelin antigens for presentation to T cells, shifting the immune response from inflammatory Th1 toward anti-inflammatory Th2 cells and regulatory T cells, and pushes antigen-presenting cells toward an anti-inflammatory state while boosting neuroprotective BDNF.
