N-Acetyl Semax Amide, Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro-NH2, N-Acetyl-MEHFPGP-NH2
An acetylated, amidated derivative of the Russian ACTH(4-10)-based peptide Semax, meant to improve stability and brain penetration. Animal studies suggest benefits for learning, memory, attention, and neuroprotection; unlike original Semax it holds no approval anywhere and is used only in research.

Mechanism
Raises BDNF/TrkB signaling, engaging downstream PI3K/Akt and MAPK/ERK pathways to support neuroplasticity genes; also modulates dopamine, serotonin, and glutamate activity and curbs microglial inflammation.
Safety file
Described as well tolerated, though independent human data are scarce.
- Mild headache
- Temporary anxiety
- Insomnia if taken late
- Nasal irritation
