Mechanism
Binds TRH receptors in the pituitary and CNS, activating the PLC/IP/PKC cascade to raise calcium and trigger TSH and prolactin release; centrally it boosts cholinergic, noradrenergic, and dopaminergic signaling, with possible antidepressant and neuroprotective effects.
