Selank
TP-7, Selanc, Tuftsin analog
A Russian-developed synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin, used as an anxiolytic, nootropic, and neuroprotective agent by adjusting GABA signaling, serotonin, dopamine, and BDNF, and by blocking enkephalin breakdown. Approved in Russia for generalized anxiety and as a nootropic; a research compound elsewhere.

Mechanism
Modulates BDNF and serotonin metabolism and T-helper lymphocyte balance, crosses the blood-brain barrier to enhance GABA-driven inhibitory signaling for calming effects without sedation, and blocks enkephalinase to preserve natural regulatory peptides, normalizing noradrenaline and serotonin in memory-related brain regions.
Safety file
Generally better tolerated than standard anxiolytics, without drowsiness, dependence, or withdrawal; occasional headache, local irritation, sore throat, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, or anxiety; long-term data outside Russia are limited.
